"We're on your dime, handsome," I said to him, "I'd be so disappointed if you chickened out." He jumped on me with something to prove.. Guys my age are so easy.
In a future exo-planet city, the escorts of Synthetic Affections pleasure club work their trade through android avatars. The escort Charlotte -real name Ruth- has an enviable reputation and a secret no one has 'known her' in the Biblical sense. She shares her money and time with the poor of the city. Don’t judge her for the men and women she sleeps with.
An unscrupulous corporate philanthropist intends to 'improve' Charlotte’s neighborhood. Both Charlotte’s place of work and house of worship are in the cross hairs of this scorched earth urban development. The one man who knows her secret, Jeremy, has a plan to fight the corporation, but it will only work if Charlotte breaks an escort’s rules of confidentiality.
Charlotte accepts her role as a spy. Her emotional, moral, and spiritual boundaries are tested as she discovers crimes uglier than either her or Jeremy had imagined.
This is a 22k word erotic, cyberpunk novella told from the perspective of an escort. Technosexuals, noir enthusiasts, and people curious about religion and sexuality will love this book!

This is not a fembot story, even though there are characters in here having sex with androids. The main character is a virgin . . . who earns extra money selling her "body" to wealthy men and women. Despite her hobby, she's serious about her chastity and fully intends to save herself for her future husband. There is both explicit sex and explicit religion.Confused yet? This is one of the more unusual premises for a piece of erotica I've come across in a long time. Ruth, the protagonist, is a devoutly Christian Mennonite, who has helped colonize a new world with her people. By day, she's a counselor at a rehab center for "chipheads," people addicted to electronic stimulation. This is her calling in life, and she means to make it work. But like most such places, her center is short on funds. With no other skills and no other way of earning money, Ruth has been working as a sort of remote-controlled escort.
She connects to her android body over a remote network, essentially becoming her alter ego, Charlotte, a tall, voluptuous redhead. As Charlotte, she's an in-demand companion for a high-end brothel, earning money having sex with wealthy citizens of her world who are willing to pay for the titular synthetic affections from a perfect android body with skills and stamina no human can match.
It's worked for a while, but Charlotte becomes caught up in a plot involving a mix of sex trafficking and real estate fraud. This part of the story is engaging enough, but I was really more interested in how Ruth evolves through the book. As might be expected, her double life can't go on forever, and she's forced to finally make some choices about her morals and purpose. The author could easily have glossed over the complexities of this dilemma (as I've seen in other stories, where pious virgins abruptly decide to become sexpots), but instead she does Ruth justice.
I won't say anymore in the interest of avoiding spoilers, but this was a story that held my interest from beginning to end.

Synthetic Affections A Sensual Cyberpunk Novella edition by Jocelyn Saragona Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This novel begins with one of the most intriguing setups I've ever come across. Ruth/Charlotte is an escort. But her clients never touch her -- they get it on with her fully functional android avatar. Not only that, but in her own body Ruth is a virgin and devout Christian. How's that for original? Clearly a story about a sex android for hire provides ample opportunity for a wide variety of erotic scenes. This novel also includes some adventure and intrigue. There's even a bit of social commentary warning about the evils of corporate greed, which I enjoyed. There's some sexual violence, which I am never a fan of, but it makes sense to the plot. Also there are a number of typos and usage errors that were distracting, but that is not uncommon in this genre. All around I'd definitely recommend to fans of erotic scifi.
I was really intrigued by the idea of this story. Not to give to much away but the main character is able to view the world through her cyborg called an avatar. The avatar is a call girl and ends up working undercover trying to overthrow the bad guys. The writing is good (you know how how bad some of these can be!) and the story kept me excited to see how it was going to turn out for both the girl and her avatar! Lots of steamy parts to keep things interesting too. Wowza. I'd highly recommend!
This book is very unique and quite unconventional compared to other books in the genre simply because Charlotte, the Christian main character, is defined by originality in just about every single scene – translating into a protagonist that is complex, interesting, and often at times very hard to predict. I also admired this story because I think it offers erotica fans ‘the best of both worlds’, in regard to having a strong plot where I could personally tell that the author really put some time and thought into crafting it, as opposed to solely relying on steamy scenes to give the book some substance. That being said, for readers who are big on the sensual scenes in this type of genre, the book certainly does not disappoint in that department at all and the hot scenes really seem authentic and far from forced. I must admit that I am quite new to the cyberpunk erotica genre, but this book has given me a good enough impression that I definitely plan to read more in the near future.
