This series was quite a pleasant read. I was interested enough in the premise to buy all three in the series even though I think the characters are a bit uneven...some totally believable, some not so much. Strongest emotional investment for me was in the often appealing spirit characters - the back stories and angst of unfinished business. It could use some minor name editing - Derrick was called Doug at least a half dozen times and once by another name altogether (which I don't remember except it started with a "d"). Minor, but disconcerting.

Kindred Spirits Restless Spirits Volume 2 Jean Marie Bauhaus 9781545145845 Books Reviews
I was first introduced to Ron (Veronica) and Chris (Christine) Wilson in March of 2015. Ron was a successful author and Chris, well Chris can see dead people. When Chris was asked to check out a house with a nasty reputation, Ron being the overprotective big sister went on her own to make sure it was safe. It wasn’t. Now Ron is one of the dead people Chris sees. Restless Spirits is the story of how Ron dies and how Chris saves her, even though she is dead. Excellent book as is Restless Spirits Love Letter a novella that continues the story.
Kindred Spirits picks up Ron and Chris’s story after they have settled into their lives as dead and not dead sisters. As with Restless Spirits, there is an excellent mystery at the heart of the book. This mystery takes the talents of both sisters to solve, plus help from new characters. The plot is great. Once I got a chance to really sit down and start reading it, I finished it in two days. Do a thing, pick up Kindred Spirits, put it down to go do a thing and then pick it up as soon as possible again.
Part of what makes the book, and it’s prequels, so good are the characters of Ron and Chris. They are believable. Their conversations seem natural like I would have with my sisters, except not the dead part. They interact with their world, both living and dead, in a realistic manner. That believability is the core of why I love this series. I believe Chris can still see and hear Ron. I believe that they can still share that bond of sisterhood. Jean Marie Bauhaus has written great characters and fun mysteries.
I give Kindred Spirits 5 of 5 stars. I also suggest you check out some of her other books. Dominion of the Damned is one of the most unusual vampire books. She is a very talented author across several genres.
I received an advanced review copy in exchange for an honest review.
I love this series and this next book in the series is as wonderful as the last 2 books. This book the main characters are well thought out as the others and you can actually picture them and the way they talk and act they are that well written. This time it's Chris's turn to learn about love and how to deal with it. Ron & Joe are still here helping out Chris with her paranormal business. Speaking of her business a news team lead by the handsome Derek Brandt finds out she is looking into an old widows car who swears her husband is haunting it and ambushes Chris and Gus at the investigation. He then says she is a fraud on his news show that of course sets off Ron to go haunt him. Ron goes even though Chris tells her no and she discovers that Derek is already being haunted by his 16 yr old older brother who was murdered years before except Jimmy doesn't know anything to show Derek he is there well by now we all know Ron of course is going to teach him how to haunt his brother. Derek breaks down and finally goes to ask Chris for help with one of the cutest scenes in the book there are many but I love this one especially. Derek feels guilty over his brothers murder they have never found out who the murderer was and he felt if he had been able to "pull the trigger" he would have saved his brother's life. I love all the missed & interrupter times that Chris and Derek have when dealing with ghosts it makes you giggle and groan. There is so much more to this story I truly would do so many spoilers if I kept going, I really do not want to do that for anyone so I will just say, the climax will keep you going until the end so many twists and turns you will be completely shocked who is the "bad guy" is and you will hold be satisfied at the end. Not only a romantic paranormal book but add suspense to it and you have an all around good read.
Good fun read. Really dont know why insists on more words still four more needed one two three four
The Restless Spirits series keeps getting better. This time, the focus is on Chris, Ron's ghost whispering sister. (Ron and Joe still play big roles in the novel, no worries.) Chris gets into trouble with a man from her past only to find out he's involved in a mystery that Ron persuades her to solve. Can Chris get over her hurt and give him another chance?
I loved this story. There are romance, mystery, and horror elements, but much like Restless Spirits, the novel focuses on family and the lengths the characters will go to protect each other. However, unlike RS, these lengths aren't always good and noble.
The mystery element kept me guessing until the end and gave me a punch in the gut once it was solved. The horror parts were scary enough to keep me awake long after I finished the book. (Suggestion don't read KS at night.) The romance had me rooting for the couple to get together. Overall, the conclusion left this reader satisfied.
Don't waste any more time. Buy Kindred Spirits right away. You will be happy you did.
